Explore the U.S.S. Bowfin Submarine

The USS Bowfin Submarine is part of the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument at Pearl Harbor, Oahu. The National Monument consists of four historical sites: the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Battleship Missouri, USS Bowfin Submarine and Pacific Avation Museum

Known as the Pearl Harbor Avenger, the USS Bowfin Submarine played a key role in Japans defeat during World War II, sinking 44 enemy ships during her nine war patrols. The submarine is located right next to the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center.  

 
The Experience Highlights
This is a the largest Submarine Museum in the Pacific and it has many fascinating indoor & outdoor exhibits showcasing the history of undersea warfare from WW1, WW2 to nuclear submarines.
 
During your tour you will experience the submarine close quarters life aboard a WWII-era submarine, 
 
There is a waterfront memorial that pays tribute to the 52 American submarines and more than 3,500 submariners lost during the war. Historically, Submarines were named after fish, the Bowfin is named after a native predatory fish of the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River.
